PieFed is a federated link-aggregator and discussion platform - a Reddit-style set of communities where people post links, ask questions, and argue in the comments. It's part of the "threadiverse," so it talks to Lemmy, Mastodon, and anything else that speaks ActivityPub.
Communities, posts, votes, and comments all federate outward. Follow a community here from your Mastodon account, or subscribe to a Lemmy community from here - it's one network, not a silo.

- Registration: application-based. You'll be asked why you want to join, and an admin reviews it before your account is activated.
- Federation: interoperates with Lemmy, Mastodon, and other threadiverse software over ActivityPub.
- Bot defense: sits behind an Anubis challenge; federation and API paths are allow-listed.
