the mauveHAUS code of conduct

The house rules still apply - don't be a dick, don't bring the cops to the door, don't be a leech. This is the part that goes deeper on one thing the rules only gesture at: how we treat each other. A community of friends only stays that way if everyone actually puts in the work.

  1. Treat people like people. Everyone here is welcome regardless of who they are, where they're from, what they look like, who they love, or how they show up in the world. Bigotry, slurs, and dehumanizing anyone are the fastest way out the door.
  2. Assume good faith, extend some grace. Most friction is a misunderstanding, not an attack. Ask before you assume, give people room to clarify, and don't nurse a grudge over a bad day.
  3. No harassment, full stop. Don't follow people around to needle them, don't pile on, don't dig up someone's private info, don't keep poking after you've been asked to stop. "It was just a joke" isn't a defense if you're the only one laughing.
  4. Respect consent and boundaries. If someone doesn't want to engage, let it go. Respect people's names, pronouns, and the limits they set. Use content warnings where the platform supports them so folks can choose what they walk into.
  5. Speak up when someone's being hurt. If you see harm happening, or something just feels off, say so. Quiet bystanding protects the wrong person. You can reach the admin at admin@mauve.haus - reports are taken seriously and handled as privately as possible.

how this gets enforced

There's no committee and no bureaucracy - just a human trying to keep a good space good. Depending on what happened, a response might be a quiet word, having content removed, a temporary suspension, or having your account removed entirely. Serious harm gets a fast, firm response; honest mistakes get a conversation.

If you think a call was wrong, say so. You'll get a straight answer, not a canned reply.
